I remember Mr von Allmen from my childhood. Having grown up in the booming metropolis of Deansville, we all knew one another. He always had a smile and was more than willing to help a neighbor (happily, of course). As an adult, I moved back to Deansville and was happy to see that most of the neighbors remained. Awesome neighbor and awesome man.
Thinking of you all at this time.

I met "Karen's Dad" in 1965 when I was three years old. We moved in to the house next door on Elgar Lane in Madison. He had lots of wonderful jet black hair, really tall, a booming voice and was always wearing a huge smile. He worked the 2nd shift at Oscar Mayer and as I write this I can 'see' him leaving for work after "Karen's Mom" made a large noon meal. I’m waving to him at this very moment.
