Obituary
MONONA-Richard “Dick” Adrian, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013. He was born on Feb. 27, 1928, in Cassville, the son of Joseph and Clara (Brinkman) Adrian. Dick married Mary Gorman on Aug. 8, 1953, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Madison. They later moved to Monona. Dick graduated from Cassville High School in 1946. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served until 1947. After serving, he attended MATC. Dick later worked for Bank of Madison, Hilldale State Bank, and M&I Bank for 48 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Dick is survived by his son, Jeff (Susan); daughter, Jan (Tim Johnson); son-in-law, Joe Phillips; seven grandchildren, Jason, Michael, Katy, Jacob, Laura, Ben, and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary (Gene) Metcalfe. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Jayne; his parents; infant son, Joseph; and brother, Tom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, with Father John Silva presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday. My dad, Del Schreier, worked with Dick for many years at the Bank of Madison and then M&I. We also saw him many times at the airport as he was working the security. We know how difficult this time is when there is a missing link in your life. Del passed away in February 2013 so we understand. Dick was such a nice friendly man. Cherish the memories!!!!!!!
