Obituary
MADISON – Florence Agnes (Kasper) Blair, age 94, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, with the grace and deliberation she brought to a long and wonderful life. Born in Chicago to Lithuanian immigrants, Flo relocated as a young working woman to Lombard, Ill., where she met her husband, Fred, and raised a family of six. Flo’s working life included cleaning houses for people with disabilities and the elderly and being a local distributor of Shaklee products during her time in Lombard. After moving to Madison in 1995, she was the charismatic office manager for daughter, Pam’s landscaping business. Active and outgoing, Flo belonged to the Lombard American Legion Post and served a term as its president. She was a regular at VFW bingo nights in Lombard and continued to enjoy marking the cards with a dedicated circle of friends as a member of the East Side Club in Madison. She cherished her children and believed in them. A pioneer hockey mom who helped organize the first women’s team in Illinois so her skate-crazy twin daughters could play, Flo was an enthusiastic fixture in the stands at home and away games. Relocating to Madison at age 76, she again showed her gift for making friends. An engaging smile and playful sense of humor endeared Flo to everyone she met. The Flo Fan Club remains large beyond measure and now includes a special group of personal caregivers who helped Flo remain in her home through various health setbacks and the many caring people at Oak Park Place, St. Mary’s Hospital, Care Wisconsin, Meriter Outpatient Rehab and Madison Fire Station #5. Survivors include children, Neeva Robinson, Don (late Carol), Virginia Wilkozek (late Donald), Robert (Carol), Pamela and Patricia (Pam Stangl); ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Flo is further survived by her beloved cats, Cleome and Zome. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother. A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, with Father Michael Radowicz presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013. Memorials in Flo’s name may be made to the Dane County Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive (608) 221-5420

I'm deeply saddened to read about the loss of Flo. She was the sweetest lady, and always the most fun in the room. I'm thankful to have known her even for the short time that I did. My thoughts are with you all.

We were sad to hear about Flo. We had a great time at her 90th birthday and we loved seeing her at your nursery, Pam, when we came in for our Christmas tree. She was always smiling and she made us smile, too.
