Obituary

MADISON-Betty Wilson, age 84, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Oct. 12, 1928, in Dane County, the daughter of the late Oscar and Lola (Rhodes) Wilke. She was united in marriage to the late Don Wilson on Sept. 8, 1951, and lived in Portage until his death in 1963. In 1979, she moved to Madison and worked at the Methodist Care Center. After retiring, she volunteered as a foster mother at Central Colony. She lived at Monona Meadows for 22 years and enjoyed playing bingo and games with her friends there. She enjoyed Sunday visits with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and others. She recently moved to Four Winds Manor in Verona. She is survived by her seven children, Sandra (Steve) Powell, Michael Wilson, Elaine Wilson, Daniel (Eileen) Wilson, Judith Wilson, Timothy Wilson and Todd Wilson; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, Karl (Maxine) Wilke, Rodney (Lorraine) Wilke, George (Gloria) Wilke and Richard (Pat) Wilke; and two sisters, Mabel (Ed) Watzke and Barbara (Herb) Ossman. Memorial services will be held at ST. STEPHEN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Rd., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. The family wishes to thank Fran and Linda for their exceptional care and friendship over the years, and the staffs at Monona Meadows, Four Winds Manor and St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.
