Obituary
CROSS PLAINS: Rosaline A. Nonn, age 84, passed peacefully July 30th, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born Feb. 14th, 1929, to Peter and Hildegard (Schachte) Maier, in Martinsville, WI. She married Jerome J. Nonn, Oct. 12th, 1948, and spent her life raising 8 boys and helping run the “Nonn Family Farm.” Her strong faith and love of family were always first in her life. As matriarch of the family, she spent hours cooking, baking, gardening and following her children’s numerous activities. Baseball, the family Christmas basketball game and her grandchildren were some of her greatest joys!! Rosie’s special interests included being a 30 year member of the St. Francis Xavier Choir, CCW, the Silvertones, administering communion to the sick, St. Francis Xavier School volunteer and religious education teacher and member of Post 245 Legion Auxiliary. She also enjoyed doing ceramics, 4H metal enameling and especially a good game of cards!! Rosie is survived by her 8 sons, Stanley (Margie), James (Judi), Thomas (Kim), Kenneth (Renee), Gerard (Mary Anne), Daniel (special friend Kris), Robert (Jodi), Stephen (Jeanette), 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Her siblings include Wendelin (Loretta) Maier, Raymond (Doris) Maier, Clarence (Margie) Maier, Hildegard Mefford and Louise Kalscheuer and brother-in-law Alfred Nonn and sister-in-law Betty Reible. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerome, their son Mark, her parents, brothers-in-law Frank Mefford and Fritz Kalscheuer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains on Saturday, Aug. 3rd at 11:00 AM with Monsignor Gerard Healy officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, Aug. 2nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Endowment Fund or the St. Francis Xavier Stain Glass Window Fund. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Girlies Manor, Cross Plains and Agrace Hospice for their exceptional care, and the St. Francis Xavier church community. Visitation will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHLOIC CHURCH, on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 Pm and also on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
