Obituary
RIVER FALLS/MADISON-Lois Annette Krauth, age 91, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born in Hallock, Minn. on April 7, 1922. The family moved to River Falls where Lois met Sherman Krauth, Jr. The couple married on November 1, 1946, at the Lutheran Church in River Falls after knowing one another for just two months. Lois graduated from UW-River Falls with a degree in teaching. Both Sherman and Lois taught school in northern Wisconsin before moving to Madison. Lois enjoyed cooking great meals for her family. She was well known as a crossing guard for Madison Metropolitan School District at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Allen Street. She and Sherman loved to play bingo with their friends and go out to supper clubs. They traveled to Mexico several years meeting up with old, but special friends from River Falls. Most of all, they enjoyed playing with their grandchildren. Lois is survived by her sons, Sherman III and Rodney; daughter-in-law, Julie Krauth; grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Hewitt; Megan, Karen, Lauren, and Nathan Krauth; and great grandchildren, Toby, Sophie, Henry, and Avelina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman, on Apr. 16, 2013 and son, David, on Feb. 12, 2012. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Agrace HospiceCare especially, Loretta Sartee, and to family friend, Brent Neumann for the wonderful love and care he gave. My sympathy to your family on the recent passing of both Sherman & Lois. We previously lived on Virginia Terrace & my 4 children were fond of both Sherm & Lois. We all remember Lois, fondly, as our crossing guard getting the kids to & from Blessed Sacrament. May they rest in peace.
