Obituary
FITCHBURG – Mary Ann Zorko, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. She was born on Oct. 30, 1939 in Antigo, the daughter of William and Harriet (Carlson) Igl. Mary Ann married James Zorko on June 6, 1959 in Antigo. Mary Ann was a proud mother and grandmother and blessed by her 60 year romance with Jim, who she met when she was 14. She enjoyed her time with family and friends in Antigo and the Madison area. She loved volunteering and contributing at the Fitchburg Senior Center where she had many friends that she enjoyed dearly. Mary Ann blessed and inspired all who knew her selfless and giving spirit, her steadfast loyalty, and her willingness to share her home. Mary Ann lived a remarkable life despite fighting Lupus for the past 35 years, defying medical opinion many times, living far beyond many prognoses, and richly enjoying her many blessings. She is survived by her husband James; four children, Terri (Kurt) Johnson of Dallas, TX, Sharon Zorko of Oregon, Tina Zorko Bailey of Leawood, KS, Robert (Deana) Zorko of Fitchburg; seven grandchildren, James Halverson, Kristen and Lauren Johnson, Paige and Brooks Bailey and, Anton and Trey Zorko. She is further survived by her siblings, Donald (Verna) Igl, Rose (Ray) Galuska, Carol (Robert) Jira, Raymond (Sue) Igl, Marge Auger, Eugene (Judy) Igl, Gary (Shirley) Igl, Theresa (Steve) Seymour and William Igl. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and infant brother, Richard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 North Main Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Visitation will be held at the GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2013, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Fitchburg Senior Center.
