Obituary
MADISON/DEERFIELD-Virginia Colvin, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. She was born on Jan. 24, 1924, in Madison, the daughter of Conrad and Hildegard (Thompson) Jordan. She married Rexford W. Colvin on Sept. 22, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa. Together, they enjoyed traveling to Florida and Arizona, Friday night fish fry’s with a cocktail or two, dancing, and fishing on Lake Puckaway. Virginia was also an avid Packers and “Brett Favre” fan. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Parish and the Elk’s Club. Ginnie was a kind, loving, classy lady with a huge heart and strong spirit. She will be dearly missed. Virginia is survived by two grandsons, Michael (Erin) Maurer and Eric (Lauren) Maurer; two great-grandsons, Collin and Ethan; along with her extended family, adopted daughter, Joni; adopted grandson, Mark; and dear friends, Darlene, Pam, and Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Rayfield, Robert, Arthur, and Edward; and a sister, Genevieve. A private memorial service will be held. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. A special thank you to Bernadette and Eric at the “Jefferson”, Cyndi and Sheila of St. Jude Hospice, and all the “Senior Helpers”. Rest in Peace.
