Richard H. Tharp

MILWAUKEE – Richard H. Tharp, age 82, died Sat. May 11, 2013. He was born August 2, 1930 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Frank and Myrtle Kephart Tharp. Richard was a quiet, thoughtful man of few words who loved his family dearly. He loved big luxury cars, and kept them in meticulous condition. He was a good friend and companion both to his “email buddies” and to all the folks in his “walking group”. Richard is survived by Ethel, his wife of 61 years; his daughters, Kim (Tom Busch) Rymer and Ann Tharp; and grandson, Josh (Caitlyn Thompson) Rymer. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Jean Coltrain, and Maxine Bedford. Richard fought a courageous battle with leukemia. The family wishes to thank Dr. Saghir and his team at Froedtert Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls for their exceptional care of Richard. Services will be private.
