Obituary
MADISON-Norman Johnson, age 81, of Madison died at home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, after a long battle with Parkinson and other health issues. Norm was born Aug. 17, 1931, of immigrant Danish parents, Christen Peter and Inger Marie Johnson. He was very proud of his Danish heritage. He married the former Pat Sanders of Portage, on April 6, 1957. After high school, Norm served in the U.S. Navy in Korea then attended DeVry Institute in Chicago, Ill. He was later employed by Sears in Madison, for 34 years. After retirement, he continued to work part-time at Dorn Hardware. Norm was a wonderful teacher and he knew something about everything. Norm was a jack of all trades and willing to help all. Norm enjoyed hunting and fishing, particulary with his sons and Brittany companions. As his sons were growing, he took the family on camping trips from coast to coast. Later he and his wife, made several trips to Denmark. He loved his four grandchildren with all his heart. He appreciated a good game of euchre in his free time. Norm and Pat were members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Norm enjoyed being active as Boy Pioneer Leader for many years and being on the Dart Ball team. Norm was a life member of VFW Post No. 7591. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat; sons, Daniel (Jane) Johnson of Pardeeville and Mark (Maria) Johnson of Marshall; grandchildren, Lindsay, Leah, Drew and Lacy; brother, Leonard Johnson of Portage; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Inger; sisters, Alma Luedtke, Alice Wilcox, and Edith Martin; and brothers, Melvin, Orville and Francis. A memorial service will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Boyle Dean Internal Medicine, Dr. Michael Snyder, Dean, Neurology, John the caregiver from Good People and Heartland Hospice for all of their compassionate care. Sad to hear of Norm's passing. My late husband, Dwaine, worked with Norm at Sears for many years and always spoke well of him. My condolences to Pat and their family.

sorry for your loss norm worked my dad [dwaine] nd i worked with norm at the s wash. store. he was a great guy to work for. i know he and dad had some good times together. mom sends her condolences also
