Charles Anderson

MONONA/SUN PRAIRIE – Charles E. Anderson, age 90, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Sunny Hill Health Care in Madison. He was born on Oct. 7, 1922, in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Elmer and Eva (LaRouche) Anderson. Charles married Elizabeth Westphal on Feb. 26, 1944, at St. Raphael Parish in Madison. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII in South East Asia building the Burma Road with the Corps of Engineers as a 1st Lieutenant. Charles graduated from UW Madison with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1945. He was a past member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for more than 50 years and is currently a member of St. Albert The Great Catholic Church in Sun Prairie. He enjoyed fishing, wood and metal working, cross country skiing and traveling. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his four children, Chuck (Kathy) Anderson of Beavercreek, Ohio, Paul (Kitty) Anderson and Carlyn LeBeau of Sun Prairie, and John (Pat) Anderson of Elburn, Ill.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leda (Carl) Kulawinski. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth; a half-sister, Mary (John) Prucha; and a son-in-law, Scott LeBeau. Funeral services will be held at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Dr., Sun Prairie, at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013, with the Rev. Msgr. Terrence L. Connors officiating. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service on Monday at the church.
