Spence and Candy: I just saw the obituary in yesterday's local newspaper regarding the passing of Spence's father, Raymond. You, Spence, Spence's mother Helen, and the rest of your extended family have my sincere condolences and sympathy on his passing. At 97 he certainly wasn't cheated by being able to live a long and wonderful life, yet it's always way too soon for a loved one to die no matter what their age. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend either the visitation or funeral service tomorrow morning because I'm running in tomorrow's Crazylegs, which I recognize is a pretty lame excuse. Again, you two and your extended family will be in my thoughts tomorrow. Take special care, John
