I met Joyce in person a couple of times and enjoyed the personal visits, however, being friends with her daughter Ann, I feel like I have come to know her. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with all the family in this loss. This is a wonderful description of her life and person, she is a beautiful person to remember.

We would like to thank the wonderful doctors (Dr.s Ryan, Wallhaus, Cattapan) and nurses at Meriter Hospital, the nurses at Meriter HomeHealth, staff at Meriter Medical Supply, the caregivers from Comfort Keepers (Mary you have been wonderful), Visiting Angels (Debbie and Tracy - you stepped in when we needed you) and the whole multidisciplinary team at Agrace Hospicecare - what a phenomenal place. Mom had so many people who cared for her.

Joyce's generous heart and capable hands were ready to help people who needed her. Her wonderful eye for beauty and skill with a needle left many wonderful works of cross stitch to delight and nourish the viewer- and other creations that brought joy. I loved being part of her creative process whether in the kitchen, or with creating needle crafts. She will be missed by all those who knew her, including me.

Herb, Iwish to express my heartfelt sympathy on your loss of Joyce. She was a wonderful person. I have some great memories about our trips to Chicago.

I extend sympathy to the family -- I remember my mom (Georgia Thompson Himsel) fondly talking of her cousin, Joyce, and we have the genealogy book that she created for the Ellestad/Offerdahl family. My mom was the daughter of Josie Thompson and I know my Aunt Grace, Arlene, and mom had many stories to share of their childhood. How wonderful that she lived to be 85 and could share her life's stories with her children. Those memories are one of life's greatest blessings. Please know we are sorry for your loss.
