I am proud to share that I am Dan's son-in-law. He gave to me like I was his son and I will be forever grateful to have had 32+ years with him in my life. To the people at Covenant Oaks, of Oakwood West, you are angels. Those working long, difficult hours on Lilac Lane deserve to be crowned CHAMPION! Great things will come to you in this life. You gave such great care to Dan in such a short and difficult period for him. Thank you. Dr. Hei and staff, you cannot imagine the love this family has for you. Your time and assistance will never be repaid. Thank you. Hospice, we appreciate your support through the final few months of Dan's life. Thank you.

"Pa" was my Father-in-Law & was an all around wonderful man and role model. Having lost my own father to cancer when I was 17, Pa was like a second father to me & treated me like a son. He had a great sense of humor & was a real prankster & jokester. Quick story: shortly after I first met the man, he snuck up behind me when I was watching a movie with my then girlfriend Dawn & stuck his finger in my ear & scared the bejeezus (& practically everything else) out of me. The 3 of us laughed for what seemed like days. At that moment I knew I would fit in just fine. He was a wonderful Dad and Granddad--warm & caring. He would do anything for his kids & grandkids. My kids were so fortunate to have such a loving, playful, & attentive granddad. Dawn & I will miss the countless hours playing Cribbage, Euchre, & Oh Heck as my children will miss the games of Old Maid, Go Fish, Checkers, and Crossover the Bridge with Pa. I would like to publicly thank my Mother-in-Law "Gippy" for taking great care of Pa these 3+ years during his battle with cancer as well as the Deno & Sommers families for all the heavy lifting they did during this very difficult period. I know Pa was grateful for the loving & selfless care you all provided. We are so incredibly appreciative to all of you for the daily help & care you provided.

"Heyyyy, Kiddo!" Ahhh, Mr. Sommers. The backyard daddy in my old neighborhood. If you cut through the hole in the fence to play at the Sommers' house you'd find Mr. Sommers with a smile on his face - always. He made us the best strawberry shakes for lunch and you'd often hear laughter..."ah-hee-hee-hee". Such a sweet and kind man and precious family to us. Mom has been filling us in along the way and we've been praying for your family. We love you all and will miss our "Danny". Laurie Jean and Gary
