MADISON-Tommie M. Brown, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born on Aug. 9, 1942, in Scott, Miss., the son of Hallie H. Holmes and Albert Brown. Tommie owned House of Brown, tailoring for many years. Tommie is survived by his daughter, Sherry Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; siblings, Bonnie Johnson of Kansas City, Kan., Rita Lewis of Rosedale, Miss., Florida Mitchell of Decatur, Ill., Lola Mitchell of Decatur, Ill., and Charles (Mary) Mitchell of Madison; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at MT. ZION BAPTIST CHURCH, 2019 Fisher St., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013, with Pastor William Badger of New Beginnings Alliance Church presiding.

I knew Tommie from my days as a student at MATC in Madison. Later, his daughter Tessia and my daughter Leigh- Ayne became friends and classmates while at St James Catholic school. Tommie was a soft spoken and gentle man, that was devoted to his children. My deepest sympathy to Tommies family.
