Obituary
POYNETTE- Earl C. Briggs, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his home in Poynette. He was born on Nov. 18, 1924, the son of Ervin and Jessie Mae (Nichols) Briggs, Sr. For more than 50 years, Earl was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 139. He loved fishing, hunting and camping in northern Wisconsin. Earl is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gloria Briggs; four children, Kathy Guess of Madison, Karen Grant of Edgerton, Marilyn Briggs-Jackson of Bayse, Va. and Gerald (Kim) Briggs of Cottage Grove; step-daughters, Julie (Scott) Neice of Allen, Texas and Susan (Scott) Lines of Madison; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings; and a grandson. Private family services will be held. The family would like to express a special thank you and appreciation to Home Health United Hospice in Portage and wishes that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to them.
