Obituary
MCFARLAND-Lorraine D. Kreul, age 90, of McFarland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 21, 1922, in Sisseton, S.D., the youngest of nine children of Stian and Clara (Aastrom) Valnes. Lorraine became a student teacher in South Dakota and then moved to San Francisco, Calif. with her older brother and sister. While in San Francisco, she met and married James B. Kreul. They then moved to Highland, which was where James was from. Later, they moved to McFarland and she worked for the University of Wisconsin as an administrative secretary. Lorraine was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She loved to travel, especially by train. Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Anderson of Chandler, Ariz. and Gale (Dave) Johnson of McFarland; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Brandi) and their daughters, Marlee and Dalli, Ryan (Kristina Kostka) and their children, Jadyn, Danny, and Kelly, Laurisa (Chad) Huss and their daughters, Katelyn, Ava, and Alexis, Adam (Andrea) Anderson and their daughters, Ella and Hannah, and Gabriel. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Kreul; an infant daughter, Lisa Marie; and daughter, Kathleen. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name. Lorraine will be dearly missed and we will carry her in our hearts forever.
