R. Mayo Hodges

I met Mayo at the Jefferson were she lived the last couple of years. She was a delightful woman, full of life and spirit. I enjoyed our conversations very very much. She was truly one of a kind, and a very bright spirit, I will miss her.

Mayo was a neighbor when she lived on Sheffield Drive. When I take my dog for a walk he carries a toy. Mayo would smile when we went by. She stated that seeing my dog with the toy in his mouth always put a smile on her face. I told her that that was part of his job! She would laugh! When she had her sale I had the opportunity to purchase her sewing machine. I was especially happy because it is the same model as mine and I knew that my mother would enjoy the machine. I have a sewing machine to remember Mayo and miss seeing her smile when I go for walks in the morning! She is missed.
