Fran was a wonderful person. I can't say enough about her. Warm, generous, cheerful, solid -- all the traits you would desire in a friend. I admired her greatly. Rick Stege, Ohio

I'm so sad to hear of Fran's passing. She was quite a lady & I wil miss her alot. I've known her since 1969 when I started doing her hair. She had such love & compassion, this world is a better place because of her. I'm sad to miss her funeral, but prior committments take me out of town this weekend. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. Bill Nelson

As a young boy, Gram'ma, would visit whenever she could and when she could not make the visit she wouldn't be far. Be it Holidays or Birthdays Gram'ma always had a card in the mail. Gram'ma followed up each and every card with a very personable phone call. This was the part I always looked forward to. During these phone calls Gram'ma and I always shared the sentiment of a love for athletics. Whether it be college or professional sports, football or hockey, I always enjoyed talking to her about the Badgers, Green Bay Packers, Brett Favre, or just another game we both lucked into watching. That was my relationship with Gram'ma. The older I got and the further away from the midwest I moved, Gram'ma always shared the same few messages with me. These messages were and always will be clear to me. The first message was the most obvious, she loved me and my brothers. The second message took me longer to understand because it was more her actions of her cards, calls and visits that said this. This message was that no matter how many miles were between us she wasn't that far away and would always be there. Here is my message, Gram'ma your still not that far away, you will still always be there and I love you.

Mom's passing, as she would have us see it, rather than as a loss, is an opportunity for an even deeper, more spiritual, enduring connection with her, as she will be with us often, in our hearts and spirits, inspiring and motivating us to be the best people we can, for our families and friends, for her sake, and for our own.
