Obituary
MADISON/MONONA-Louise M. Freeding, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Kirkland Crossings in Pewaukee. She was born on March 17, 1918, in Chicago, the daughter of Gerald and Marie (Van der Maden) Fransen. Louise married Richard Arvid Freeding Sr. in 1940, in Chicago. They resided in Chicago and Wheaton until 1955, when they moved to Madison. Louise was a homemaker and excelled in many areas. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, dancing, crafts, doll making, poetry, piano, gardening, cooking, and was a swim instructor well into her 60’s. Most of all, Louise loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known to be a very strong, independent woman, always supportive, caring, understanding, and never judgmental. Louise is survived by her children, Richard (Sharon) Freeding Jr., Nancy Mahnke, Sandra Freeding Myers, and Keith (Linda) Freeding; eight grandchildren and their spouses; seven great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003; her parents; and a brother, Robert. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, with the Rev. Bradley Homan presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity. A special thank you to the staff at Kirkland Crossings and VITAS Innovated Hospice Care for their loving care.

I have many fond memories of Aunt Louise. Spending Christmas Eve with the family and having so much fun. She always remembered my children's birthdays, as well as my own. I hope she and Uncle Richard are dancing on the balconey of heaven.
