Obituary

STOUGHTON-Calvin J. Schneller, age 88, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare due to complications from a stroke. He was born on Nov. 15, 1924, the youngest son of John and Emma Schneller. Calvin was an energetic, fun-loving family man who always had time to help everyone. He will truly be missed by his wife of 65 years, Audrey; daughter, Becky (Bob) Greiber; son, Stan (Jill) Schneller; AFS daughter, Monique (Maurice and son, Gabriel); and three adoring grandchildren, Jeff Greiber, Jenny Canty, and Cali Opsahl. He was blessed with four beautiful great-grandchildren, Nolan and Brooks Canty, Greta Greiber, and Grayson (Calvin) Opsahl. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Hosig; brother-in-law, Denman Kramer; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Lilah May Brereton. Calvin always had a smile for everyone and a twinkle in his eye. He was a generous man who was an amazing role model for his family. Calvin was an excellent wood worker; many of his projects adorn homes in Stoughton. He was a friend to all and loved taking walks, even occasionally with a dog at his side. Calvin’s love for roses made his yard and his children’s yards a work of art. He proved how you can be a private man and still make the world a better place by just being in it. At his request, there will be no services held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Thanks to all the caring people at Stoughton Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Skaalen Home, and a special thank you to the outstanding people at Agrace HospiceCare. Your love and understanding helped more than you will ever know. “Our lives are shaped as much by those who leave us as they are by those who stay. Loss is our legacy. Insight is our gift. Memory is our guide.” - Hope Edelman

Dear Audrey, Becky, Stan and Family. I am so sorry to see the passing of Cal. He was one of the kindest, most caring people that I have had the honor and pleasure to know. He reminds me so much of my Dad. Cal will be dearly missed by many. With my deapest sympathy and highest regards, Kent Knutson

Lance and I would like to extend sympathies to all of you with the loss of your husband and father. I didn't know him well, but knew him enough to know he was usually smiling, and always happy to help anyone he could. He was a special man who will be missed by many!

Audrey, Stan, Becky, Cali, and family, our heartfelt sympathies go out to you on the loss of your beloved Cal. We are so glad that he was able to meet sweet Grayson Calvin, to dance at Cali's wedding and live in Stoughton and be a part of his children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives. What a wonderful influence he was on so many. Much love, Linda, Frank & Andrew Spina
