What a wonderful friend Lynette was to grow up with on Woodward Drive. I will always remember the 3 musketeers - Susan (Schneider) Butler, Lynette and myself together in science classes at Gompers.
I was able to briefly reconnect with Lynette on Facebook this past July. I can't believe she is gone.
To the rest of the Grittner Family, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Lynette was my oldest and dearest friend. I have never known such loyalty, perception and plain old fun. I have an archive in my mind of some of the best times in my childhood, teen years, young adult years and even recent reconnections, and Lynette is in every one of them. Whenever I needed a friend, Lynette was always there first and longest. She helped me through so many difficult times, putting my pain before hers, even in her last few days. I am deeply saddened by her passing. There was something so reassuring to me just knowing she was there, somewhere. My life is richer having had the years I had with her and my sister Michelle and our antics on Woodward Drive and Morningstar Lane. I will miss her profoundly.

Dear Grittners,
We are so sorry to hear of Lynette's death. We, of course, got to know Lynette when she came to Stevens Point to study.
We send our sympathy.

We were shocked and saddened to hear about Lynette passing. We have many happy memories of her and your family. We remember Brian, Lynette, and our daughter Tricia playing happily in the sandbox even though they all had chicken pox. As they grew older, they roller skated in the basement, put on puppet shows and plays. While playing "Ghost" they frightened themselves by opening the lower basement door and screaming in terror. After school one day, the girls heated milk in the tea kettle for cocoa. I didn't realize it for several days, until I smelled something sour near the range---all part of growing up. We were so fortunate to have had you all next door. God Bless! Mary and Ray Evert

Lynette was my oldest and closest friend as well. I am so saddened by her death, but I am trying to focus on the memories...there were so many. She recently reminded me of the day in kindergarten when we met because she liked my new red gloves! I remember long afternoons on the Lake Mendota pier, summoning ghosts in her basement, excavating a "city" in an empty lot between our houses, countless sleepovers, and spending hours talking and painting our nails. I remember we went through a "talk-like-a-hillbilly" phase as well! Lynette was an incredibly spontaneous person who could create something fun and interesting out of nothing. I am so sorry she's gone, and I so regret not connecting with her more often than once a year or so. Lynette, I love and miss you terribly.
