Sorry to hear of your loss. As you know, Ben was my older cousin, one of the "Cooney" Dopps. As I child, we would visit Ben's family at their farm in Oconomowoc. I was always eager to ride one of the horses. I was petrified to ride the larger dray and begged to ride the smaller pony Pepper. Ben would try to talk me into riding the larger horse. Fearing one of Ben's practical jokes, I insisted that I ride the pony, which promptly took off into the fields behind the barn.Later, as adults, Ben explained that the large scary horse was indeed very calm and safe. Ben had a wicked sense of humor but also a very kind heart that I came to know later in life.
You will be in our thoughts.

Hello,
My name is Lesli and I was Ben's primary home health nurse when he came home after having his liver transplant. I have fond memories of the many visits I had in your home, visiting with Ben. I also had the chance to see him when he was hospitalized.
He was an interesting man. He touched my life and I have thought of both of you in the years past. I have a fun memory I hope will make you laugh. I remember you have a Rowe Pottery crock in front of your house. I told him I loved Rowe Pottery and how I was going to go to a sale in Cambridge. After the sale, we had a visit. I told him I was mad I didn't buy a chicken watering crock when I had the chance. Just the way he looked at me and shook his head made me laugh. He couldn't understand how I would want something like that. If he had ever got to my home, he would have understood; I'm a Rowe pottery addict.
I know both of you have generous spirits as well. You were able to deliver some coats to the Coats for Kids for me too. I don't have the words to take the pain away but you have my greatest sympathy at this time. I feel lucky to have known Ben and I pray he is at peace now.
Thank you,
Lesli Wright-Bobholz
