Kelly, Katie, Sara and Cole, We're shocked and saddened to hear of Brent's death. We have so many good memories of all of you when you lived in Fitchburg - sitting on your deck or ours, watching the kids at the park, birthday parties, etc. We're so sorry for your loss. Brent was one of the good ones and we know you'll miss him terribly, but he lives on in your memories. If there's anything we can do in this difficult time please let us know.

My simcere condolences to Brent's family. I had the privilege of working with and sitting behind Brent at The Gazette for the last four years. I've never known a more down-to-earth and humbe man in my life. I know how much Brent loved his family. The night's at The Gazette were made easier for Brent and me thanks to our countess hours spent listening to cheesy 70s music. Brent's favorite was Amie by Pure Prairie League. I also know Brent enjoyed heading to the Poker Room at DeJope on occasion where his card skills usually resulted in him leaving with a little more cash than he came with. A truly great man who will be forever missed.

I'm so sorry to learn of Brent's death. As someone who worked with him for many years at the Cap Times, I came to know him as not just a dedicated and very hard worker, but as someone who developed deep friendships with his colleagues and who cared more about getting things done well than about his own ego - a rare and treasured quality among journalists. I know how deeply he cared about his family, so that makes the pain of this sudden loss even deeper. Lots of thoughts and prayers around all of you.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Brent in this very sad time. Brent has been an excellent addition to The Gazette's staff. His skills, patience, work ethic and knowledge made him a great co-worker. I teased Brent about his quiet in our office, but I admired his focus on the job at hand. When our computers would fail us, we had several occasions to talk and I learned of his love of the journalism business and his devotion to his family. Brent's quiet demeanor made his laughter more special. I am proud and glad to have had him as a colleague. His gentle spirit will be deeply missed. My deepest sympathies.
