Obituary

WINDSOR-Kenneth W. Ulrich, age 86, entered into eternal life to be with Jesus Christ his Savior on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at his home. He was born on Jan. 31, 1926, in Rock Springs, the son of Walter and Helen (Hinz) Ulrich. Ken proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946. He was united in marriage to Virginia “Ginny” Bork on June 28, 1958. He was employed with Baraboo Frosted Foods (which became Baraboo Sysco Foods) for 50 years, retiring on Dec. 1, 2001. He was the consummate sales professional and took great pride in his sales achievements. But more than anything, Ken valued most the many friendships he made during his 50 years of service. Ken enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was on the Badger Honor Flight this past spring. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ginny; children, Linda (Bill) Hallman, Glenda (Barry) McQuade, Debra (Harley) Ragan, and Gary (Wendy) Ulrich; grandchildren, Stacy Namio, Jillian Crawford, Ryan Ulrich, Heather Buttchen, Jennifer Terry, Emily Ragan, and Gavin Hallman; great-grandchildren, Samantha Namio and Katrina Vike; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Ulrich-Brilliott; and stepfather, Clarence Brilliott. Funeral services will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1021 Spaight Street, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, with the Rev. Dustin Krystowiak presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military rites being conducted. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Foundation Fund. Cemetery: Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military rites being conducted.
