Obituary
Martha E. “Kitty” (Ortiz) Green, age 43, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her fiancé Chano Rosales and her beloved four childred Gavin, Marquez, Nathan and Amara. She was born on Aug. 31, 1969, in Wautoma. Martha was an East High School graduate and worked for Oscar Mayer for 12 years. She enjoyed reading, walking, and spending time with her newest edition, the family dog, Chula. Martha was diagnosed with breast cancer on Aug. 8, 2000, but went into remission in 2003. However, in 2005, the cancer returned having metastasized to her bones and other organs. For this, Martha will be remembered as a fighter. Her family will remember her as a wonderful mother who meant everything to her kids and to many beyond the family circle. Martha is survived by her fiancé; children; parents, Ramon and Martha Ortiz; siblings, Eliza (Byron), Ramon (Mary Ann), Mirtha, Perfecto (Patricia), and Jose (Gabriela). She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, Ramon Ortiz III, Lilliana Ortiz, Camilia Ortiz and Logan, other relatives and many special friends. Kitty was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul Pierstorff; and great-grandmother, Beatrice Schwartz. Funeral services for Martha will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services on Wednesday. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all who have helped out Kitty, and her family throughout the years and also those who helped out with her fundraiser.

Surely you are an angel now. . . your perserverance throughout your illness is commendable. It is so sad that God had to call you home but rest assured that your children will be well taken care of and I know they will continue to feel all the love you have for them. May God continue to bless you and keep you in his embrace - you are not gone . . . just moved on to a better place.

Special Prayer for Gavin, Marquez, Nathan and Amara.
Oh, Lord of mercy, bless these children
who have lost their mother.
You know how important a mother is in the life of a child:
A guide, a friend,
A role model, a teacher,
A tutor, a nurse,
A provider,
A source of love and good will
The one who lets a child crawl into their bed during a midnight thunderstorm;
The one who holds the child’s head during an illness
The one who changes the bedding in the middle of the night when the child has gotten sick on his covers
Place good people in their lives to fill the heart’s empty places where their mothers’ love once resided.
Enter their lives, direct their steps, and lead them to the Perfect Parent; The Divine Father-Mother who will love them
Unceasingly.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
A Special Poem for Eliza
TINY ANGEL
For a brief and fleeting moment,
An angel touched the ground;
With tiny wings and halo,
And sweet, soft angel sounds.
Blessing the lives of others,
In beauty and in grace;
Those who saw her knew that God
Had kissed her lovely face.
The angel came for reasons,
We may not understand;
Her journey brief, with gifts so great,
And guided by God's hand.
For the angel left so much behind,
Left nothing here undone;
She gave herself so others live,
Just like her Father's Son.
So, rest now tiny angel,
Your work on earth is through;
In the beauty of God's perfect love,
We saw His gift in you.
Peace, Prayer & Love
