Obituary

Larry Ziegler, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012. He was born on May 23, 1950, son of Lyle and Doris (Lawrence) Ziegler. Larry graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1968, and worked on the family farm. Up until the time of his passing one of Larry's favorite pastimes was still spring planting and fall harvesting. He married Patricia Jensen on June 28, 1969. They raised two children and were married for 23 years. In the mid 70’s Larry purchased his first semi and started his own business Z & Z Trucking. Throughout his life Larry had many different semis and employees of Z & Z trucking. He was an owner operator for over 30 years and spent many years over the road. Larry retired in 2008 and moved to Titusville, Fla. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. During quiet times he loved to pick up a good book and he could not put it down until it was finished. Larry’s greatest passion was the Green Bay Packers. Through the wins and the losses throughout the years Larry could always be found supporting the Pack. He is survived by his children, Kelly (Jason) Mikula of Sun Prairie and Lonny Ziegler of Lodi; mother, Doris Ziegler of Sun Prairie; siblings, Sharon Martin of DeForest, Dan Ziegler of Sun Prairie, Linda Nellen of Sun Prairie, and Connie Ziegler of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Chase and Conor Mikula and many nieces/nephews and grand nieces/nephews; Larry had many friends throughout his life and we would like to especially thank those who were recently a large part of his life in Titusville Fl. He loved you all greatly. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle “Bud” Ziegler of Sun Prairie. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at a later date. “Lord please keep our Dad safe as he travels his last miles Let your presence guide him and bring him a smile Take care of him while he is away Let him know we will miss him each and every day Steer him clear of danger as he crosses the country alone Put him in your hands lord, keep him safe and take him home.” LOVE YOU DAD A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at a later date.

Dear Aunt Doris, Sherrie, Danny, Linda, Connie, Pat, Kelly (Jason), Lonnie and all of Larry's Family, We are saddened to learn of Larry's passing. We hadn't seen him in many years and our memories are from our younger years. We know the essence of Larry's life by his obituary and it fits with our memories of him. We knew of his career in trucking and remember that Kelly accompanied him on many trips while she was young. Larry's love of reading is inherent of the offspring of the Giddings family. I enjoy reading. Our granddaughter Katie is a bookworm, my mother read as did her and Doris' Giddings uncles and their families. Lastly, the picture of Larry, with his huge smile, speaks volumes. Farewell, cousin Larry. We didn't see each other very often in adulthood, but we love you and will remember you always!

Ziegler Family, Don't thinkof him as gone away- his journey's just begun, life holds so may facts- this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost- and he was loved so much. To express sicere sympathy in your sorrow.

Our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences for your great loss. We met Larry in 2008 after he moved to Titusville and became great friends from the start. Larry became part of our family and was loved by all. Sunday football was very important and we all had a great time. His laugh was very contagious! We feel as if we know all of the immediate family as he talked about you all the time. He shared many wonderful stories of his childhood, the children’s childhood and all the family members. Lonny and Kelly; Thank you so very much for sharing Larry with us as we feel very blessed to have had him in our lives. He was loved very much and our hearts ache with his passing and for you. Please know that he was very proud of both of you as he spoke about it all the time. His face would light up when he was thinking or talking about you both and felt you were the best thing in his life. You are in our thoughts and prayers every moment of every day.
