Ione P. Gustrowsky
October 23, 1938 - October 21, 2012
Obituary
OREGON-Ione P. Gustrowsky, age 73, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, surrounded by her family and after a one year battle with uterine cancer. She was born on Oct. 23, 1938, in the Marcellon Township, the daughter of Everett and Beulah (Roberts) Pogue. Ione was united in marriage to her lifelong friend, Floyd H. Gustrowsky, on June 4, 1960, at North Scott Baptist Church in Pardeeville. Shortly after, they joined Faith Baptist Church in Monona (now called Monona Oaks Community Church) and are still members to this day. After graduation in 1956, from Pardeeville High School, Ione worked at Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Madison for five years. Later in life, she drove school bus for McFarland and then Oregon School Districts for a total of 17 years. Ione mostly enjoyed raising her children and working alongside her loving husband, farming. They both liked their cows! She and dad had a very deep love and respect for each other throughout their entire marriage. Ione unconditionally loved and adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a people person and loved her many relatives, friends, and neighbors. Ione is survived by her husband of 52 years, Floyd; children, Wanda (James) Carpenter of Oregon, Ramona (Kurt) Holland of Traskwood, Ark., Linda Black of Oregon, Lloyd Gustrowsky of Oregon, and Verna (Jon) Brellenthin of Oregon; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; twin sister, Irene (George) Weisensel of Sun Prairie; brother, Vernon (Delores) Pogue of Sun Prairie; sister-in-law, Ruth Pogue of Clear Lake; many nieces and nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by an infant sister; brother, Roy Pogue; her parents; and her in-laws. Funeral services will be held at MONONA OAKS COMMUNITY CHURCH, 6200 Monona Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, with Pastor Kevin Phillips presiding. Burial will be at Town of Dunn Burying Grounds. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. To my children, be not sorrowful that I am gone, and my earthly life is done; be not sad I passed away, for in you, my children, I live each day. There is a little of me in all of you, in each new one I live anew. So you see, I’ll never really be gone, as long as there are children to carry on. I’ve had my share of love, sorrow and strife. I have lived a full and fruitful life. So do not mourn and do not weep, for I have earned this peaceful sleep.

Dear Gustrowsky family. I was so sadden to read of the passing of Ione. You are such a close family and one that should be very proud of themselves. I had such a good time with all of you at the dental office when you would come in. I miss those good laughs we had. May God be with you a this difficult time of sorrow, and hold on to all your memories for the strength you'll need. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Roberta
