MADISON-Doris M. (Fuller) Mackesey, age 89, passed away on August 13, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare after a brief illness. She was born on May 8, 1923, in Marquette, IA, to Milo and Mary “Marie” Fuller. Doris married Ed Mackesey on Aug. 17, 1941, in St. Michael Church, Chicago, Ill. She worked for many years at Cuna Mutual retiring in 1983. Doris is survived by her children, Delores “Dodie” (Jerry) Duerst, Kathy (Paul) Bretl, and John (Nancy) Mackesey; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Mackesey; former son-in-law, Ken (Mary) Esser; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Erin), Stephen (Sarah), Todd, Tracy (Dick), Tom, Matt (Erica), Leah (Adam), Brandon (Ashlie), Brittany, and Briana; and five great-grandchildren, Noelle, Jason, Lauryn, Stephanie, and Tiffany. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; son, Tom; daughter, Phyllis; and great-grandson, Jake. A Celebration of Doris’s Life will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, August 19, 2012, with Monsignor Delbert Schmelzer presiding. A time of food and friendship will follow the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 P.M. until the time of service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity in Doris’s honor would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of Agrace HospiceCare for providing her comfort in her final days.

I worked with Doris for many years in the mail room. Doris was always very kind and
I really enjoyed working with her. She had a very kind and warm sense with all the girls in the mailroom. Very motherly
in a good way. My sincere sympathy to all of her family.
