My deepest sympathy to Joan's family. I grew up in Sauk City with the McFarlane's and Joan. Joan was a senior in High School when I was a Freshman and I admired and looked up to her from the day I met her. She was a classy lady, cheerful and kind with a bright smile. I attended Joan's service today and it was truley moving. A beautiful tribute to a wonderful lady. Jenny and I will always treasure the times we shared with Jim and Joan in the Twin Cities. Jim - although we don't see each other as much as we used to, I consider our friendship very important to me. I cannot express enough how saddened we are by your loss. If I may ever be of aid to you please do not hesitate to ask. I will look forward to the next time we get to chat for awhile. Megan and Molly - you most likely do not remember me or my wife as you were quite little the last time we met. When I saw you today I could not help but think of Joan and how proud she is of each of you. If you are anything like your mom (and I bet you are) then the people around you are truly blessed.
