Mary Roys

OREGON - Mary L. Roys, age 72, passed away at her home on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012. She was born on May 23, 1940, in Orange County, Calif., the daughter of Melvin and Edwina (Maag) Durbin. She married Leslie Roys on July 12, 1958. Her fondest memory was of meeting him on a blind date on Friday the thirteenth. Mary owned and operated her own daycare for many years. She was an active member of Peoples United Methodist Church. Mary had a variety of interests including reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, needlepoint, doing puzzles and camping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family including her dogs, Pepper and Ludi. Mary is survived by her husband, Leslie; children, James, Carol Owen (Rich Long), Sherrie Roys and Laurie Vyhovsky; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mike (Celest), Bill Bouseman, Kathy Sanger and Joanne Bouseman. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ron and Jim. Memorial services will be held at PEOPLES UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 103 Alpine Parkway, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, with the Rev. Jason Mahnke presiding.
