Kathy, Bill & family; Growing up I remember your Dad as the "good looking Uncle in a uniform". I was pretty young the first time I spent a whole week at your house. I think he was the first police officer I knew and got to see in his uniform, pretty exciting for this "county bumpkin". We lead a very sheltered life, down on the farm! Loosing my Dad a year & a half ago is still very vivid, so I know how you feel right now, it's a blessing that he is no longer suffering but you will miss him and think of him daily. All the good times surely out weight the controversial debates. Our Dad's will be together again with all their brothers. No words can soothe the pain away but I hope the love around you will help you through and brings you hope and comfort with heartfelt prayers from those who mourn with you. Love, Trudy

Dear Rees Family: I am so sorry I can't be there for the service. I have an unalterable appointment in Minnesota. Boots was a wise and down to earth man that I looked up to greatly when I worked with him. Boots had an ability to wade through complicated things and get right to the heart of a matter. And, you could always trust in his character and his judgement. And, boy we sure would laugh at some of his sayings and observations about life and our work. We will miss him.

Dear Bill, Kathy, Teresa, and Ashley, I just heard from Kathy today that Boots died on Monday. Please know that we're thinking of you. We would certainly have come to the funeral if we had known in time. Boots will really be missed on this block. In sympathy, Sarah
