Corinne Viola Grimstad

MADISON-Corinne V.”Corky” Grimstad, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at her residence in Oak Park Place. She was born on July 11, 1923, in Lodi, the daughter of Edward C. and Cora M. (Olson) Colstad. Corinne was a graduate of Lodi High School and attended Madison Business School. She married Stanley Grimstad in August, 1950, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. Corinne loved her work as a bookkeeper/accountant and loan officer for various financial institutions in various states around the country. Stan and Corky’s careers brought them home in 1965. Corky enjoyed travelling, fishing, caring for her pets, camping and singing with her sister and friends as members of the Sophistikats, but most importantly, spending time with her family. Corinne is survived by her husband, Stanley; siblings, Ruth Badeau of Madison and Cecil Colstad of Beaver Dam; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ethel Bilkey, Luella Leatherberry, and William Colstad. Funeral services for Corinne will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Avenue, Monona, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Curt Everson presiding. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Corinne’s name be made to Bethel Lutheran TV Ministries, 312 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison, WI 53703, or Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
