STOUGHTON-Chase J. Newman, age 26, found peace in the arms of God on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, after a long battle with dependency. He was born on Nov. 8, 1985, in Madison, the son of Jeff and Leslie (Showers) Newman. Chase graduated from Monona Grove High School in 2004. He was active in DECA, winning national awards. Chase was working for Seamonson’s Landscaping. He was known for his infectious smile that could light up a room. Chase loved sports. He was an avid Badgers and Brewers fan. Chase is survived by his parents, Jeff and Leslie Newman; sister, Callie (Terry) Ward; sister-in-law, Juliya Fitzgerald; grandfather, Douglas Showers; grandmother, Charlotte Lambrecht; niece and nephews, Ellie and Parker Ward, Rudy Virnig, and Vassili Fitzgerald; aunts and uncles; cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chad Newman-Fitzgerald; grandfather, Sylvester Newman; grandmother, Joyce Showers; and uncle, Marc Showers. Funeral services will be held at Door Creek Church, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison, at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, with the Rev. Marc Maillefer presiding. Private burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service on Monday. There are no tears in Heaven, Nor grief of any kind. I leave this final teardrop, To those I’ve left behind. So keep me in your memory, And know that up above, There are no tears in Heaven, Instead there’s only love. “Perhaps they are not stars but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.” (Inspired by an Eskimo Legend)

Chase is one of those people that you almost can't put into words. All you can do when you think him is smile. He could make any bad day one of the best you have ever had. His smile was infectious and his laugh was dynamite. I will always cherish every single moment I had with him and hold those memories close to my heart. I wish I could have seen him or talked to him one last time....but everything has a purpose and now Chase is resting among the hands of God and has become another beautiful Angel in my life.
I will cherish you everyday, miss you forever, and love you always. Keep smiling and embrace the glorious peace you have assumed. We will never ever forget you Chase <3

Chase was a wonderful person. I did not know him very long, only for a year but i sure did enjoy his presence. I know he is with the good LORD looking down on us and is probably realizing how many people really did love him. Life is too short, love the one you got and LIVE IT TO THE MOST EACH DAY! <3

I am so sorry for your loss. Chase was in Tellurian at the same time my son was during Brandon's first time in rehab and I remember Chase very well since they were about the same age at the time. He seemed like a very nice you man. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Dear Parents of Chase,
I am sorry for the tragic loss of your young son. I wish to share with you comfort from the Bible.
The Bible holds out a wonderful hope for our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death.
Please read John 5:28,29 in your Bible.
Another wonderful future promise is found at Revelation 21:3,4 where it states that , pain and death will be no more. The former things will have passed away.
I hope as you read these texts in your Bible , they will be of comfort to you.
Sincerely Dianne Mullins
