Obituary

MADISON-Paul Clark Schroeder, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 19, 1935, in Madison, the son of Norman and Florence (Pond) Schroeder. Paul graduated from Madison East High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in France from 1955 until 1959. He married Bernita Irene Harpold in November 1960, in Madison. Paul worked for the UW-Madison, as an Information Technology Manager for 35 years. He enjoyed music and playing cards. Paul was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed his trips down south to play golf. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family. Paul is survived by his wife, Bernita; children, Julie (Steve) Butler of Madison, Scott (Stacy) Schroeder of Madison, and Richard “Rich” (Julie) Schroeder of Madison; grandchildren, Aidan Butler and Morgaine Schroeder; brothers, Jack (Nancy) Schroeder and George (Mary) Schroeder; sister, Norma Hughes; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandra Rought; and brother-in-law, Ben Hughes. Private burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Cr., Chicago, Ill. 60674. Aunt Bernita, Julie, Scott, & Rich - I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't even know how long it has been since I have seen you all. . . but Uncle Paul's picture looks exactly as I remember him. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Brenda
