Obituary
CROSS PLAINS- Caroline R. Virnig, age 75, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at Meriter Hospital. Caroline was born on Dec. 18, 1936, in Middleton, the daughter of Clyde and Manchel (Bender) Medcraft, She was united in marriage to Cyril Virnig on Feb. 12, 1955 in Cross Plains. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Caroline was employed as an operator for Engineering Industries. She was a life time resident of Dane County. Caroline is survived by her husband, Cyril; a daughter, Sally Ann (Jim) Bando of Woodstock, GA; 3 grandchildren, Cheryl Harton, Michael Bando, and Michelle Bando all of Woodstock, GA; 3 great-grandchildren, Jim , Emily and Candice Harton,; sisters, Patty McCoy of Florida, Linda Stelter of Verona; a brother. Frank Medcraft of Madison; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Cyril C. Virnig, Jr., and a sister, Rose Riley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 with Father Tom Kelley presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
