Obituary
COTTAGE GROVE-Kenneth D. Buckley, age 68, of Cottage Grove, passed away after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, surrounded by family at his residence. He was born on March 3, 1943, in Madison, the son of Kenneth A. and Helen (Putnam) Buckley. He married Shirley Uphoff on Dec. 26, 1959, in Cottage Grove. After school, he went to work for Carl H. Behrend Sheet Metal in Madison for more than 20 years. Kenneth owned and operated Two Buck Auto Rebuilder’s in Cottage Grove with his son Gary, retiring in 2006. He was an HVAC inspector for the Village of Cottage Grove for many years. Kenneth enjoyed traveling to Puerto Vallarta with his wife and their friends, Fran and Marie. He had a passion for working, cars, building homes, and woodworking. He also loved the weekend drives in the corvette with the top down with the love of his life, Shirley. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Kenneth’s biggest regret was not being able to see all of his granddaughters grow up and get married. He was known for being a fair businessman, and had great pride in everything he did. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley; children, Gary (Elizabeth) Buckley of Cottage Grove, and Jonlyn (Todd) Anderson of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Cole (Craig) Erickson, Bailey, and McKenna Anderson; mother, Helen Buckley of Sun Prairie; brother, Dennis (Linda) Buckley of Cottage Grove; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and grandson, Kyle. Private family services will be held at a later date. Private burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012.

Mr Buckley--you will be so missed! I have such fond memories of you as I grew up with Jonlyn in Cottage Grove. We would visit you in your Two Buck shop and enjoy swimming at the house pool. I could tell how much you loved your family. You were such a strong, hard-working man but a big teddy bear. I think Jonlyn was definitely her daddy's girl. :) I also remember the fun trips you and Mrs. Buckley would take with your friends. I would get to see pictures and hear all about them. Those are moments to last a lifetime. Enjoy your time in Heaven. We will miss you here on Earth but in a blink we'll all be reunited. Love you,
Kelly (Krumrey) Allen
