Obituary
MIDDLETON-Margaret Ann Miller, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Margaret was born on January 22, 1932, in Roxbury, to Gerhard “Hardy” and Caroline (Blum) Pings. She attended both grade and high school in Sauk City and went on to further her education at Madison Area Technical College majoring in Bookkeeping and Accounting. She was married to Melvin A. Miller in 1949 and raised three sons, John, David and Ronald. Margaret was employed with Massachusetts Life Insurance, Connecticut General, Northwest Construction and retired from Yahara Materials Inc. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish in Middleton. Margaret enjoyed traveling abroad to other countries with the Friendship Force and spending time with family and friends. She liked to keep busy in her retirement with part-time jobs, a couple of them being doing demos for Copps Foods and working at the Senior Coalition. Margaret is survived by her three children, John H. (Doris) Miller, Belvidere, IL, David A. (Pam) Miller, Windsor, Ronald T. Miller, Madison; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; her sister-in-law, Avis Pings and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhard and Caroline Pings and three brothers, Gerald, James and Patrick Pings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 6, 2012, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Inurnment will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Sauk City at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church.
