Obituary
Zimmerman, Kathryn (Kate) Middleton–Kathryn (Kate) Zimmerman, ascended to heaven on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, from her home. If she’s not sitting on the right side we know she is close to the front. Kate, daughter of Stanley and Edith Robinson was born on Feb. 4, 1942 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. She graduated salutatorian from Dodgeville High in 1960 and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin where she obtained a degree in medical technology and met her husband Dick. They married in 1964 and have lived in the Middleton area for the last 48 years. Kate worked at the University hospital as a medical technician until giving birth to the first of her two children. After the growth of her children she worked as a secretary at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and then as an administrative assistant at the Middleton Public Library. She was an active member of the Madison PEO Chapter BW and volunteer at American Girl. As a long time member of St. Luke’s, Kate was very active with the Merry Mission quilters, Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM) , many years in the bell choir and also as an usher. She enjoyed playing tennis with her tennis buddies and looked forward to their annual trip to Ft. Myers Beach, Fla. She also enjoyed a good game of cards with her family and bridge with her many friends. Most falls and winters found her cheering on the Badgers. Kate is survived by her loving husband, Dick; daughter Janelle (Jon) Hrpcek of Nashville, Tenn.; son, Rick (Roberta) Zimmerman; grandson, Robby, granddaughter, Becca of Oconomowoc; her sister, Pat (Bill) Swenson of Green Lake as well as her brothers and sisters-in-laws; Dave (Sandie) Zimmerman. Tom (Lori) Zimmerman, Connie (Bob) Martineau, Sharon (Duane) Erieau and Marie Rose. All will miss her very much. A Memorial Services will be held at ST. LUKE’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton, Wis., at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012, with Rev. Heather Lampert presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St. Luke’s Merry Mission, MOM,or Agrace Hospice.
