Helen Ross

MADISON- Helen Elaine Ross, age 83, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Watertown where she had resided for the last eight years. She was born on Dec. 27, 1928, in Steuben, the daughter of William and Margaret (Crow) Yeadon. On May 17, 1975, Helen was united in marriage to William G. Ross. Helen worked for many years at the Emporium, as a buyer, in Madison. She later went to work for the State as a secretary and retired in 1992. Helen is survived by her daughter, Beverly James; son, Robert (Sarah) Bestor; stepchildren, Raoul (Doreen) Ross, Stuart Ross and Susan Peterson; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sherry) Hackbart, Gregory (Valerie) Hackbart, Valorie Bestor and Catherine Ross; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Hackbart, Jackson Hackbart, Benjamin Hackbart and Allison Hackbart. She is further survived by her former husband, Robert (June Hoffman) Bestor. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; three sisters; a brother; and son-in-law, Dave James.
