Twila Odegaard

MCFARLAND-Twila D. Odegaard, age 83, of McFarland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Aug. 23, 1928, in Highland, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Anderson) Thomas. Twila married Wesley Odegaard on Oct. 8, 1949. She spent many hours lovingly sharing the results of her sewing and baking skills. Twila was a member of VFW Post No. 7591 Ladies Auxiliary. Wes and Twila were very active members of Post 7591. Twila was known as the “popcorn lady” at VFW 7591, at Tuesday night bingo for many years. She loved her Pomeranian dogs. Twila is survived by her very special nephew, Wesley; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and her Pomeranian, Buffy Jo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; parents; and brother, LaVern. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Highland.
