Obituary

MADISON- Joan G. Buhler age 80, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 after a short illness. She was born on December 1, 1931 in Lancaster, the daughter of Walter and Marion (McCluskey) Richardson. Joan graduated from Madison East High School with the class of 1950. Joan was united in marriage to Richard Buhler on January 30, 1954 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church. She worked for many years at American Family Insurance. Joan is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard; children, Cindy (Ron) Stegner, Pam (Rick) Singer, Gary (Tammi) Buhler, Jim Buhler, Dennis Buhler, Mike (Macy) Buhler and Angie (Frank) Adamo; 7 grandchildren, a great-grandson and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Albertson. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A special thank you to the staff of Karmenta Nursing and Rehabilitation and the UW Hospital for their wonderful care of Joan and her family. Cemetery: Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Joan for quite a few years before she retired. She was a very vibrant and positive presence and a delight to be around. A thought I have to share in my own stumble bumb words: No one who ever truly lived, ever truly dies. They are always there and always care, watching with angel eyes.
