Obituary
MADISON- Henry Paul Peiss, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, with family by his side. He was born on Feb. 17, 1928, in Oshkosh, the son of Henry and Helen Peiss. Henry married his childhood sweetheart, Joanne Evelyn Schoin, whom he met when he was nine years old. He started his business career at the age of twelve selling newspapers and remained an entrepreneur his entire life. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he moved to Madison. Once in Madison, Henry worked for Marshall Erdman Company and began building homes on his own at night with the help of his wife. In addition to building many homes in Dane County, Henry built the Marshfield Clinic in 1964. Henry finished his career as the state building inspector for the State of Wisconsin. He loved to care for his wife, Joanne. Henry was a magician, excellent poker player, and amateur artist. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanne; children, Steven (Kate), John (Karen) and William (Ann); grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Charlie, David, Kelly and Amy; sister, Betsy; and brothers, Mark and Joe. Henry was preceded in death by his sister, Helen; and his lifelong best friend, Ted Trulson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan, 21, 2012. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

Henry was a very nice man, I rented from him in Monona, at 3 differant duplexes he owned.on Camden Rd. rest in peace my friend.
