Mary I. Macfarlane

Macfarlane, Mary I. MADISON-Mary I. Macfarlane, age 82, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Sept. 15, 1929, in Beloit, Wis., the daughter of Merle and Winnifred (May) Betts. Mary married Cliff Macfarlane on Jan. 18, 1949. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, Cliff; daughter, Rita Gillette of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Shellie (Dan) Gillette Mitchell of McFarland, Jennifer (Joshua) Satzer of Sun Prairie, and Jessica (Jonathan) Gillette of Germany; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Mitchell, Connor Mitchell, Mary Satzer, and Noah Gillette; a sister, Patricia Hohlstein; and brother, Raymond Betts. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Betts and Richard Betts; and a sister, Dorothy Betts. Per Mary’s wishes, private services will be held. A special thank you to Mary’s Dean Clinic physicians, Dr. Laurel Rabson and Dr. Michael Frontiera, also to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for all their care given to Mary.
