Obituary

MADISON- Kenneth F. LaClair, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Aug. 27, 1925, in Gouvernour, N.Y., a small town in upstate New York, the son of Kenneth W. and Viola (Teall) LaClair. Ken graduated from Antwerp High School in 1943. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Army Air Corps and trained to be a pilot. During his service, he flew B-25 Bombers and AT-6 Bi-Planes. Ken was station at Truax Field in Madison as well as many southern states and was discharged while stationed in Colorado. It was Madison that Ken returned to, to marry Ada Johnson, whom he met while stationed at Truax Field. Together they moved back to upstate New York. In 1950, Ken and Ada returned to Madison where Ken worked for Casey & O’Brien Appliance Store. Ken and two partners purchased the service department and named their business, All Madison Service Co., repairing household appliances for 25 years. He then went to work for Hoffman Chemical Company. Ken was always keeping busy, by driving school buses for the Middleton/ Cross Plains School District, working for the Oconomowoc Canning Co and Stokely U.S.A., retiring in 2000 at the age of 75. In his retirement, Ken volunteered at Karmenta Nursing Center, by calling BINGO numbers and also volunteered at the Monona Senior Center. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1958, where he ushered for many years. Ken enjoyed traveling with his special friend, Anna Mae, making numerous trips to New York to visit his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sisters, Velda Reed and Rosemary Rose; two brothers, Jerry LaClair and Larry LaClair; special friend, Anna Femrite; niece Mary (John) Helleckson; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada; parents; brother, Harold; and two sisters, Sandra and Beverly. Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago Street, Madison, at Noon, on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, with the Rev. Susan Schneider presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. A special thank you to St. Mary’s Hospital and Agrace HospiceCare for all of their wonderful care and support. Cemetery: Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. I loved him with all my heart. Its sad that he has passed away but i know are family will never forget him.. He did the most amazing things in life that will make him the most memoral person i know to pass away be sides my grandpa reed

You will be missed. I have many great .memories of you on the farm. Memories of you and Anne visiting us in West Virgina then here in Apalachin. It was always warming to see you and Anne.
