Obituary
BROOKLYN/ONALASKA - Ronald E. Snyder, age 76, of Verona, passed away on Sat, Nov. 12, 2011, at U.W. Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec.21, 1934, in Brooklyn, the son of Phillip J. and Pauline M. (DeRemer) Snyder. He married Anechia Jean Hurlbutt on Sept.18, 1954, in Elroy. Ron graduated from Brooklyn High School and attended Madison Business College, where he met his wife. Ron lived in Brooklyn for 51 years, Onalaska for 22 years, Stoughton for four years, and moved to Verona in September to be closer to his son and daughter. He was a manager in the heating and air conditioning industry. Ron was a member of the Oregon 151 Masonic Lodge and Brooklyn United Methodist Church. He served on the Brooklyn Fire Dept. and Village Board. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and woodworking. He loved to play cards, especially rummy with his wife and granddaughters. Ron is survived by his wife, Anechia of Verona; his son, Ritchie (Debbie) Snyder of Belleville; his daughter, Kim Snyder of Madison; grandchildren, Tami Legler of Stoughton, April (Ryan) McConnell of Dalton, Mitchell Snyder (Jeanne Corcoran) of Oregon, and Kari Legler (Ty Runyan) of Mazomanie; and great-grandchildren, Griffen, Devon, twins: Anechia and Zada, Owen and Boe; brothers, Phil Snyder of Beloit and Steve (Lorraine) Snyder of Janesville; and a sister, Lee (Phil) Erpenbach of Hernando, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Pauline Snyder. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, with the Rev. Gail Brown presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Special thank you to UW Carbone Cancer Center and the UW Hospital Emergency Room staff.
