Anita Lenz

MADISON/STODDARD-Anita Marie Lenz, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at her home. She was born on June 7, 1931, the daughter of Farnham Flint and Josephine M. Nygaard. Anita grew up in the McFarland area. She received a B.A. degree from Luther College, and her master’s degree in social work from UW-Madison. Anita married Richard L. Lenz on July 3, 1964, and the couple moved to Tucson, Ariz. to pursue their social work careers. They returned to Wisconsin, living in LaCrosse for a short time, then living most of their lives in Stoddard. Anita dedicated her working life to providing counseling and advocacy services to children and their families. She is survived by her aunt, Georgeon Brink; sister-in-law, Shirley Flint and her three children, Suzanne Flint, Julianne Norcia, and Jeffery Flint; four great-nieces; six great-nephews; and cousins. Anita is remembered for her love for her family, her compassionate service to children and their families throughout her working career, her love of the land and gardening, and all things antique. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, with the Rev. Gwen Brandfass presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
