Obituary
FITCHBURG- Frances L. Stormer, age 94, of Fitchburg, passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011. She was born on July 13, 1917, in Madison, the daughter of Valentine and Clara (Benisch) Frisch. Frances grew up on a farm in Middleton and graduated from Middleton High School. She married Howard “Pete” Stormer on Nov. 20, 1936. Frances worked at Montgomery Wards and at Schmitts Nursery in Fitchburg until retirement. She enjoyed gardening and plants, traveling, dining out and casino trips. Remarkably at 94 years old, Frances was still trying new things, very independent and living on her own. She is survived by her three children, Darlene (Paul) Lavoie of Yorba Linda, Calif., Marilyn (Marlin) Irvine of Fitchburg and Janice “Sue” (James) Lange of Chandler, Ariz.; grandchildren, Becky, Jane, John, Bobbi, Dan, Anne, Laurie, Susan, Jennifer, Stephanie, Catherine, Susan, Michael, Brandt and Heidi; 16 great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete; sons, Ron “Count”and infant Dwayne; and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1128 St. James Court, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, with Monsignor Thomas Baxter presiding. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. A special thank you to Sam, Beverly and the Good Samaritan at the Oregon Post Office for trying to save Grandma.
