Obituary

OREGON- John A. Palmer, age 65, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on Oct. 26, 1946, in New Ulm, Minn., the son of Donald and Helen (Fossum) Palmer. John married Tana Knutson Magee on July 6, 1985 in Stoughton. He worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, retiring on May 29, 2003. John was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oregon. He enjoyed a good book, game of bridge and most of all 18 holes of golf. John is survived by his wife, Tana; mother, Helen Palmer; sons, Jason (Caroline) Palmer, Darren (Catherine) Magee and Steven (Debra) Magee; and grandchildren, Megan, Balin, Ava, Elena, Julian and Elise. Memorial services will be held at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 408 N. Bergamont Blvd., Oregon, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, with the Rev. Jessica Scholten presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Cemetery: Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery.
