Dorothy Tilley

BROOKLYN/EVANSVILLE- Dorothy B. Tilley, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 in Evansville. She was born on Jan. 2, 1919, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Raddatz) Schulz. Dorothy grew up in Brooklyn. She was united in marriage to Arthur Tilley on Oct. 28, 1939, in Oregon. Dorothy worked for the Oregon schools in food service for 19 years. She was an active member of Brooklyn Lutheran Church. Dorothy always had the coffee pot on, ready to serve her homemade cookies, donuts or a piece of pie to her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Frank) Fisk and Marlene (Phil) Nevel; grandchildren, Jim Nevel, Patti (Pat) Lentz, Beth Zee, Becki (Karl) Trawicki, Dan (Cathy) Nevel and Scott (Jamie) Fisk; great-grandchildren, Danielle and Michael Nevel, Sarah and Sean Lentz, Kelsey and Kyle Zee, Kody, Mark, Travis and Kaylee Trawicki, Collin and Colby Nevel and Nathan and Andy Fisk; sisters-in-law, Anna Schulz, Lenore Schulz and Grace Schulz; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents, William and Anna Schultz; brothers, Clarence Roy and Marvin Schultz; sisters, Violet (Roy) Thickpenny and Lois (Kenny) Moore; and niece, Jane Thickpenny. Funeral services will be held at BROOKLYN LUTHERAN CHURCH, 101 Second St., Brooklyn, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family who will establish a fund at a later date.
